Mr Geoffrey Wells is a urological surgeon based in Metropolitan Melbourne.
After graduating from Melbourne University, Mr Wells trained in general surgery in Australia and subsequently spent five years in Scotland where he obtained general surgical fellowships from the Glasgow and Edinburgh Colleges of Surgery.
Upon returning to Australia he obtained his urological fellowship of the Australian College of Surgeons and has subsequently been in private and public practice since 1992.
His special interests include the management of prostate cancer including radical prostatectomy (has performed over 500 of these since 1992) and prostate seed implantation, bladder cancer and urinary stone disease. Other general urological procedures include the management of voiding dysfunction in both males and females, Vasectomy and Scrotal Surgery.
Mr. Wells has undertaken specialised training at the Seattle Prostate Institute in the USA enabling him to also perform prostate seed implantation in conjunction with radiation oncologist Dr. Andrew See. Over the last three years Mr. Wells has performed over 60 Brachytherapy cases with Dr. Andrew See.
Mr. Wells has a public appointment at Box Hill Hospital, this involves participation in multi-disciplinary cancer meetings and training of junior urological staff.
Mr. Wells has collaborative relationships with radiation and medical oncologists to enhance excellence in patient care for urological cancer treatment particularly for complicated cancer problems.
